Unmukta Chand will be leading the Indian U-19 squad for the Asia Cup and most probably for the World cup also. He is an experienced player for the Indian team. The thing to be noted is that he plays for Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League. He has played four matches for Delhi Daredevils.
The personal coach of Unmukta Chand is Sanjay Bhardwaj. There is an interesting fact that Sanjay Bhardwaj is also the personal coach of Gautam Gambhir. Chand is an off-break bowler .
In the recent years his performance has really gone up. He has made 151 runs in first class cricket. Recently, in the series against Australia he made century.
In spite of Unmukta’s great performance we have found his weakness too. Unmukta struggles a lot with pacers and specially with the yorkers and bouncers. In IPL he was made out in the very second ball of Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga and the ball he was bowled was a beautiful yorker.
Unmukta also has problem with spinners. But the spinners must have great turn in the ball. For instance; he could easily defeat the spinners who do not have much turn but Shane Warne’s leg break made Unmukta out.
As a conclusion ,we can draw out the fact that Unmukta will be the first man that Nepali bowlers must take out. He takes a long time to adjust but he copes as per the situation. So, pacers must be first choice against him and then spinners.
