Kumharuda cricket club of Dhanusha defeated the organizers Janaki Coaching Center in the finals of Janaki Cup T20 tournament to snatch the Janaki Cup. The tournament was held in Pipara, Mohattari from 17th of Ashoj(convert to English) on the occasion of Dashain.
Winning the toss and deciding to bat first Janaki Coaching center were bowled out for 102 in the 13th over. Abinash Mahato led the bowling with 3 wickets for Kamharauda, Sudip picked up two, Sujit, Krish and Manohar grabbed a wicket each. Chasing the total Abinash Mahato scored very important 20 as the Kumharauda team got to the total in 17.4 overs. Saurav, Bijaya and Manohar of Kumharauda scored 14 each to help their side to the victory. Abinash Mahato was judged the player of the match for his all round efforts.
The winning team was awarded a cash prize of five thousand rupees and the winner’s trophy. The runner up bagged three thousand and the runner’s up trophy. Abinash Mahato of Kauharauda, was declared the player of the tournament and the best batsmen. Kumharauda’s Govinda Yadav was announced the best bowler of the tournament. Janaki Coaching Center was awarded the team with the best management (the best management award) a rare award in a Cricketing tournament, Dukhmochan Yadav received the award on behalf of the management.
16 different teams participated in the month long tournament, including school and local cricket clubs and coaching centers; Gumariya Cricket Club, Islami Cricket Club, Sishu Gyan School Jaleshowar, Our Cricket Club, Yuvraj Eleven Pipara, Mithila Yuwa Club Pipara, Atara Cricket Club, Bindhi Cricket Club, Lochan Cricket Club, High School Pipara, Alipati Cricket Club, Ramjanaki Cricket Club, Kumharauda Cricket Club, and the organizers Janaki Coaching Center competed for the coveted prize.
