Stroke of luck to NZ:First win over SL in 4years

New Zealand 139 for 9 beat Srilanka 138 by 1 wicket in the ICC champions Trophy at the Cardiff stadium on June 9.

Even though it was a low-scoring match, it was difficult to win over SL after the extravagant bowling by Lasith malinga, but NZ survived to enroll their first win over Sri Lanka in 4 years. Malinga varing his pace to dismiss the McCullum,in which he was successful.

Kumar Sangakkara scored 68 runs off 87 balls with eight boundaries. Not to forget the grand performance by Malinga who took 4 vital wickets during the chase.

From NZ, Man of the match Natham McCyllum took 2 wickets and contributed 32 runs. Left arm Seamer Mitchell McClenaghan redound up taking 4 wickets and made the win obvious. New Zealand survived to register their first win over Sri Lanka in four years
