Nepal set to get ICC Warning

Cricinfo/Cricnepal-Five Associate and Affiliate countries including Nepal are set to get given warnings at the ICC Annual Conference in Melbourne. “They will be given one more year to set their affairs in order or face suspension”, Peter Della Penna writes in Espncrinfo.com, “Nepal has fallen foul of administration statute 2.1, which relates to having a full-time paid administrator.” reads Peter’s story.

Cricket Association of Nepal doesn’t have payed staffs in its office however the board in advertising  for Chief Executive and Finance Manger.

Nepal has been under ICC radar for years. Nepal was fined 83,000$   last year for failing to submit the financial accounts on time. It was revealed later on by ICC that CAN had been warned in the previous years about this fault.

The turn of Nepal new year hasn’t been all that good for Nepal cricket-Cricket made headlines for only the wrong reasons. The 15 member squad that had represented Nepal in World T20 decided  boycotted the national tournament only to call it off at the last moment. The issues of extension of Pubudu’s, perhaps the most concerning of all issues, has had CAN pushed against the wall all the way. Dassanayake returned to Canada without a term extension. And most recently CIAA(Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority) dragged president, general secretary and 8 other members to the court for charges of corruption.

This turmoil is already having tolls on Nepal Cricket. Uganda was chosen over Nepal to host WCL Division-3″Our internal issue is the only reason we did not get to host Division 3″, Sanjeev Pandey had said to Cricnepal, when the news was revealed by ICC.

Associate members USA and Zambia, and Affiliate Morocco are Mali are the other four members who will be formally warned at the meeting.
