Kathmandu – Indian club team – Ranchi Cricket Club defeated Mahabir Yuva Committee, Janakpur by 27 runs in the second match of Jagshakti Sanshad Cup T20 2016 at Sideshwar Cricket Ground on tuesday.
Ranchi CC opted to bat first after winning the toss and managed 148/8 in their 20 overs. Nagendra Mishra slammed half century (56) off 34 balls including 4 fours and 3 sixes. Nikhil Jaishwal and Saras Choudhary also contributed 20(23) and 16*(18) respectively.
For Mahabir, Abhishek Jha took 3 wickets (3/24) in his four overs. Gopal Singh, Raj Mohammad, Ramnaresh Giri, Rahul Pratap Singh and Samsad Ansar shared one wicket each.
In reply, Mahabir Yuva Committee were restricted to 121/9 in 19 overs. Rahul Pratap Singh had to retired hurt while playing 32 balls innings for 28 runs. Sobha Kant Pandey hit 4 fours for his 36(35) and Ramnaresh Giri contributed with 17(19) but couldn’t chase the target and lost by 27 runs.
Manoj Murmu, Monty Singh and Rajan Sharma clinched two wickets each.
Birat Cricket Society will play against Mahabir Yowa Committee and Kalaiya Cricket Club will take on New Horizon Cricket Club on Wednesday.
