Thailand Women defeats Nepal Women in practice match

Cricnepal – Thailand Women team defeated Nepal Women team in a Twenty20 practice match by a margin of 19 runs at Asian Institute of Technology, Terdthai Cricket Ground, Bangkok today.

Match Summary – Thailand Women 82/7 (20 ov) def. Nepal Women 63/10 (19.1 ov) by 19 runs.

Thailand Women opted to bat after winning the toss and managed 82 runs in their 20 overs losing 7 Wickets. Chanida Sutthiruang scored 35 runs in 34 balls whereas Nepali bowlers gifted 11 extras which became the second highest score in their innings.

Interestingly, there were no boundary scored-off Nepali bowlers during Thailand innings. Saraswati Chaudhary (4-0-16-2), Sita Rana Magar (4-0-7-2) and Karuna Bhandari (4-0-12-2) were the wicket takers for Nepal team.

In reply, Nepal Women team crumbled out for 63 runs in 19.1 overs. Nary Thapa top scored with 17(23) and the rest batters just managed the single digit score.

Nepal team could only score 49 runs from their bat including two boundaries and rest were 14 extras.

Other scores – Kajal Shrestha (0), Jyoti Pandey (1), Sita Rana Magar (2), Indu Barma (1), Rashmi Sharma Chaulagain (6), Rubina Chhetry Belbashi (5), Karuna Bhandari (4), Neera Rajopadhyay (7), Sarita Magar (5*) and Roshani Bohara (1).

Nataya Boochatham, Rattana Padunglero and Ratanaporn Sangsoma grabbed two-wickets each.

Nepal Women team will play their first match of ACC Women’s Asia Cup 2016 against Pakistan Women team on November 26 at AIT.
