Kenya heads to India for build-up matches against Nepal

According to Kenya's Daily National, they will arrive in India and play four warm-up games in Ahmedabad and Baroda against local teams in February 28 and March 8.

Melbourne – Kenya’s national team left on Monday, February 27 to take part in two World Cricket League Championship (WCLC) matches against Nepal at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur on March 11 and 13.

According to Kenya’s Daily National, they will arrive in India and play four warm-up games in Ahmedabad and Baroda against local teams in February 28 and March 8.

“We are looking to post great results against Nepal and as such we are giving the team much exposure ahead of the fixtures. The tour of India is primarily to help the team acclimatize since Nepal and India have similar climatic conditions,” said Josphat Muriithi, the general Manager of Cricket Kenya.

“There are two new faces – Elijah Otieno and Puspak Kerai in the touring squad, who were not in the side that faced Hong Kong in Nairobi last November”Former International, Thomas Odoyo, who is the national team coach for Kenya told Daily National.

Recently, Kenya cricket legend Maurice Odumbe was appointed as Kenya’s batting consultant for a period of three months.

After the build-up matches, Kenya will leave India for Nepal on March 9.
