Dipendra Singh Airee retained by Gulf Giants for upcoming ILT20

Nepal’s star allrounder Dipendra Singh Airee is set to play International League T20 (ILT20) again. ILT20 is the official franchise league in the UAE under the administration of the Emirates Cricket Board.

Airee has been retained by the Gulf Giants for this edition, even though he didn’t play any matches in the previous edition. He was signed during the later stages of the tournament but was never included in the playing XI.

The Gulf Giants, captained by England’s James Vince, have also retained star players such as Chris Jordan, Shimron Hetmyer, and Rehan Ahmed. They have also kept associate stars like Gerhard Erasmus and Aayan Afzal Khan.

Airee is currently ranked as the sixth-best allrounder in the T20I rankings, marking the highest ranking ever achieved by a Nepalese player. His proficiency with both bat and ball, combined with his exceptional fielding skills, makes him a valuable asset in T20 cricket.

The third season of ILT20 begins on January 11, 2025, with six teams competing. Gulf Giants and MI Emirates are the champions of the first and the second season respectively.
