ICC Development Award: Cricket Association of Nepal among regional winners

On Wednesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the complete list of regional winners for six award categories. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) was also awarded with one award.

The ICC Development Awards for 2023 celebrated 21 Associate members as regional winners, acknowledging a year of remarkable progress on and off the field. The announcement, made on Wednesday, 24 April, highlighted the achievements of these Associate members in advancing the game of cricket within their regions and making a significant impact both in sports and beyond.

The six award categories that acknowledged the achievements of 21 ICC Associate members are: the ICC Development Initiative of the Year, recognizing efforts to promote cricket’s growth; the 100% Cricket Women’s Cricket Initiative of the Year, which focuses on the development of women’s cricket; the ICC Digital Fan Engagement of the Year, honouring innovative digital fan outreach; the Cricket 4 Good Social Impact Initiative of the Year, for projects making a positive impact in communities; and two awards celebrating the best performances in men’s and women’s international cricket for 2023.

CAN was awarded with Asia Regional Winner for the ICC Digital Fan Engagement of the Year. This recognition highlights the strong engagement of fans on digital platforms. Through social media, CAN expressed gratitude to the fans for their support and efforts.

The regional winners will advance as global nominees in six categories. A panel of specialists, including game development experts, former international cricketers, and media professionals, will cast their votes to select the global winners.
