Three Nepalese players – Sandeep Lamichhane, Rohit Paudel, and Dipendra Singh Airee, are gearing up to participate in the 2024 Global T20 Canada (GT20) League. This tournament is a 20-over franchise cricket competition held in Canada.
Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee have both been drafted by the same team and will be playing for the Vancouver Knights, alongside Babar Azam, Mohammad Amir, and Mohammad Rizwan. The team also features other star associate players like Paul van Meekeren, Ruben Trumpelmann, and Jeremy Gordon.
Meanwhile, Rohit Paudel, who will be playing in his first franchise league outside Nepal, has been signed by the Toronto Nationals. His team includes Colin Munro, Shaheen Afridi, and Rassie Van Der Dussen. Associate stars such as Saad Bin Zafar, Nicholas Kirton, and Junaid Siddique are also part of the squad.
This will be the fourth edition of GT20 Canada which will be played from 25th July to 10 August. Sandeep Lamichhane and Dipendra Singh Airee’s team battled in the final of the previous edition where Airee’s side emerged victorious. However, both Nepalese star players are set to play on the same team this time around.
Lamichhane has participated in all three previous editions, while this will be the second season for Dipendra Airee and the debut season for Rohit Paudel.
