Kathmandu/Cricnepal – 24-man preliminary squad has been announced for the upcoming closed camp for the World Cricket League Championship matches against Kenya today.
The selection was based on the Super league matches held at Tribhuvan University ground from January 19-24, 2017.

Paras Khadka (C), Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Vesawkar, Shakti Gauchan, Sompal Kami, Sagar Pun, Karan KC, Basant Regmi, Rajesh Pulami Magar, Sandeep Lamichhane, Binod Bhandari are among the shortlisted players.
Likewise, Md. Aarif Sheikh, Amit Shrestha, Sushan Bhari, Dilip Nath, Md. Aasif Sheikh, Bhuwan Karki, Kushal Bhurtel, Avinash Karn, Sunil Dhamala, Dipendra Singh Airee, Bikram Sob and Dipesh Shrestha are among the new faces in the closed camp.
Veteran Mehboob Alam has also been included for the closed camp.
Who were left out ?
Opener Anil Mandal and Wicketkeeper Batsman Raju Rijal, who played their last WCLC matches against Netherlands were left out from the selection.
Similarly, Subash Khakurel, Pradeep Airee, Mahesh Chhetri, Naresh Budhayer, Siddhant Lohani, Sandeep Sunar, Lalit Singh Bhandari, Jitendra Mukhiya, Aadil Khan, Kamal Singh Airee, Kishore Mahato, Bikram Kumar Bhusal, Sushant Singh Thapa, Manjeet Shrestha, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Dhungana, Prem Tamang, Hari Shankar Sah, Prithu Baskota, Sonu Tamang, Rohit Kumar Paudel, Ramnaresh Giri, Pawan Sarraf, Abhinash Bohara, Amar Singh Routela and Suwarnakar Uraw didn’t make it to preliminary squad.
The selection committee was headed by ICC Representative – Venkatapathi Raju, Jagat Tamata, the head coach and the Skipper Paras Khadka.
The closed-camp is scheduled to start from second week of February in Kathmandu.
