Ireland cricket team restricted Afghanistan cricket team for 138 runs to win the first One-day International match of the two-match series by 72 runs.
Ireland managed to score 210 runs after losing the toss. Paul Stirling made a high score 72 runs and William Porterfield (53) completed his half-century.
Dawlat Zadran and Aftab Alam grabbed three wickets each to bundle out Irish for 210 all out in 48.5 overs.
However, Afghans were bowled out cheaply for 138 runs in 35.4 overs. Mark Adair damaged the touring team’s batting lineup with four-for. Boyd Rankin had three wickets under his name.
Asghar Afgan, the former skipper was the highest scorer for Afghanistan. He made 29 runs.
