CAN announces fixtures for Kathmandu Mayor’s Cup 2021

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Tuesday announced the fixtures for the Kathmandu Mayor’s Cup, a domestic 50-over tournament.

Earlier in February, CAN signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) to organise a 50-over tournament in Kathmandu.

As per the agreement, CAN received a grant of Rs. 5 Millon from KMC to organise the tournament.

Kathmandu Mayor’s Cup will be held at two different grounds in Kathmandu, Tribhuvan University’s International Cricket ground in Kirtipur, and Mulpani Cricket Ground from March 6 – March 13. There will be 11 total matches to be played between the five participating teams.

The final will be played at the T.U. Cricket Ground on March 12. The four semi-finalists of the recently concluded Prime Minister Cup, Tribhuvan Army Club, Nepal A.P.F Club, Nepal Police Club, and Bagmati Province will be joined by Kathmandu Mayor’s XI team to take part in the tournament.

The top two teams in the league stage of the competition will play in the final. The winning team will get Rs 500,000 and the runner-up team will get Rs 300,000.
