Melbourne (Cricnepal) – Paras Khadka stepped down from his role as Nepal captain on Tuesday.
Paras,31, made his decision public via social media. His decision to step down from captaincy came just a day after the International Cricket Council readmitted Nepal’s membership.
Great to know that the suspension of Nepal cricket has been lifted and would like to wish the new committee to work for the betterment of Nepal cricket,players and its stake holders.

“Great to know that the suspension of Nepal cricket has been lifted and would like to wish the new committee to work for the betterment of Nepal cricket, players and its stakeholders. I have hereby decided to resign from my post as the captain of the Nepal cricket team. Jai Nepal !!”, Khadka wrote on Twitter.
Paras Khadka represented Nepal in three Under-19 World Cups, in 2004, 2006 and 2008. In 2009, he took over the national captaincy after Binod Das. He brought the team from Division 5 to Division 2 in the ICC World Cricket league. His partnership with Ex-coach Pubudu Dassanayake led Nepal to their first-ever World Cup appearance in 2014.
Under his leadership, Nepal achieved their ODI status in March last year. He led Nepal to their first-ever ODI series win, against UAE in January this year.
Khadka has won three ODI games out of six from August 2018 to January 2019. Likewise, he has 11 T20I wins from 26 games.
The 31-year all-rounder is the only century-maker for Nepal in both ODI and T20I. He became the country’s first ODI century-maker against UAE while registering an unbeaten 106 in a tri-series game against Singapore, last month.
He also became the first-ever international captain to score a hundred while batting second in T20I.
